Zach Condon and his Beirut crew are angling to have a majorly productive summer. They're scheduled to play shows all over Europe and North America through September, including big gigs at Lollapalooza in Chicago, Outisde Lands in San Fransisco, London's Hyde Park with Arcade Fire, and this month's Northside Festival in Brooklyn and Bonnaroo in Tennessee. They released the rythmic, ambling new single, "East Harlem", which will be released next week on 7". Click here to listen to its gentler b-side, "Goshen". And finally, today brings the news that each of those tracks will be featured on the next Beirut LP, The Rip Tide. It'll be out August 30 on Condon's Pompeii Records. That's the track list below, along with his current tour dates and a stream of "East Harlem". I guess what I'm trying to tell you is, if you like Beirut, your odds of having an awesome summer just increased by about 200%.
