Santa Monica’s Chief spent most of last month opening for Portugal. The Man across the South and Midwest, but they’ll be setting out for a handful of east coast headlining dates early in December. The quartet’s Domino debut Modern Rituals evokes 60s pop and folk, as well as 70s rock, and utilizes the sensitive harmonies popularized in the back half of the last decade by groups like Grizzly Bear and Fleet Foxes.
