Death From Above 1979 rescheduled their own reunion this weekend to play a secret latenight show in Austin on Saturday night. Spinner reports, though, that a "riot broke out" about twenty minutes into Toronto duo's set when fans who couldn't gain entry to the tented venue, Beauty Bar Backyard, broke through a retaining fence, allowing people to enter the filled-to-capacity space. Cops, including mounted police, arrived on the scene, reportedly riding through the crowd using mace and tasers to break it up. Although the show was halted for a period, the band was allowed to finish. Drummer Sebastien Grainger told Spinner, "I didn't know the police were beating people. Damn, now I feel bad."
