Death From Above 1979 rescheduled their own reunion this weekend to play a secret latenight show in Austin on Saturday night. Spinner reports, though, that a "riot broke out" about twenty minutes into Toronto duo's set when fans who couldn't gain entry to the tented venue, Beauty Bar Backyard, broke through a retaining fence, allowing people to enter the filled-to-capacity space. Cops, including mounted police, arrived on the scene, reportedly riding through the crowd using mace and tasers to break it up. Although the show was halted for a period, the band was allowed to finish. Drummer Sebastien Grainger told Spinner, "I didn't know the police were beating people. Damn, now I feel bad."

Watch footage of the scene outside the show as well as DFA's set below, including the break they were forced to take, during which Grainger talks to the crowd about Libya, Japan, and Thomas Sowell. The band's next gig, their original reunion show, is next month at Coachella.
