Speaking to BBC's Radio 1, Dave Grohl confirmed that Foo Fighters is currently in New York mastering their "massive" new album, which was recorded with Butch Vig in Grohl's garage - no computers used he added.

"There's 11 songs and front to back there's not one sleepy ballad," said Grohl.

The former Nirvana drummer turned frontman added the as yet untitled album would be out "in spring".

This marks the first time Grohl has worked with producer Butch Vig since Nirvana's 1991 classic Nevermind.
