Dave Grohl has divulged some details about the next Foo Fighters album to BBC’s Radio 1, claiming it will be the “heaviest” of their career. “The fourteen songs that we’re recording, there’s not one acoustic guitar – there’s not even an acoustic guitar in the house!”
Sayeth Grohl, "The last month and a half we've been in my garage recording totally old school analogue with Butch Vig,” the producer behind Nirvana’s Nevermind, as well as other definitive early-90s records, including Sonic Youth’s Dirty and Smashing Pumpkins’ Siamese Dream. He goes on to say that about half the album is done, including a song featuring Krist Noveselic on bass and another called “Dear Rosemary” sung with Bob Mould.
“Honestly, it sounds like if Hüsker Dü wrote a four-and-a-half minute hit opus, and then the Foo Fighters played it.”
That rules.
