Gorillaz stopped by BBC 1 Radio’s Live Lounge this weekend to play a few songs, including the Plastic Beach cuts “On Melancholy Hill” and new single “Doncamatic”. They also played a tense, spare cover of The xx’s “Crystalised”. Damon Albarn was only joined a few others in the studio, so all three songs, are pretty minimal renditions. Those normally synth-heavy Gorillaz tracks work surprisingly well in this bare-bones performances, though. Check out the clips below.
