Best Coast finally went and did with “Boyfriend” what we’ve all known “Boyfriend” was perfect for all along: set it to sunny, saccharine footage of young love blossoming at a quinceañera. The outstandingly solid opening song from Crazy for You, this summer’s finest fuzzed-out lovesick weed-pop album, has a hazy, drowsy vibe that nicely suits the pleasant excitement of the party it soundtracks. The clip was directed by Taylor Cohen, co-director of the excellent video for Matt & Kim’s “Lessons Learned”.
