Academy Award nominations were announced this morning, and among some of the biggest movies of 2010 and the most highly regarded names in film was Trent Reznor. Reznor and collaborator Atticus Ross were nominated for “Best Original Score” for their work in David Fincher’s “The Social Network”. This news comes only nine days after Reznor and Ross were awarded the Golden Globe for their music in the biopic about Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, which obviously bodes well. They’re once again up against some stiff competition: other nominees include Hans Zimmer for “Inception”, A.R. Rahman for “127 Hours”, Alexandre Desplat for “The King’s Speech”, and John Powell for “How To Train Your Dragon”. Tune in to ABC February 27 to see if the industrial legend will come away with the film industry’s most prestigious award.
