New from the world of prolific drummer Zach Hill is Death Grips, an experimental hip-hop collaboration. The style of the beats crosses the board, from jagged and disorienting to booming and expansive to airy and lush, sometimes all within one song, which is just the manic touch you might hope for in a project of Hill's. No matter the terrain, the baritone emcee tackles it with unrelenting intensity.

Information about Death Grips is pretty sparse at the moment – the names of other members aren't even online – but the official website, thirdworlds.net, does have six songs available to stream and download, a promise of an album in 2011, and links to equally bare Facebook and Twitter pages.
