Bay Area noise-punk trio Weekend will be touring Europe with Wire in February, and then doing five North American dates with them in April. There’s tenseness to Weekend’s music that draws its roots straight from Wire’s rigid post-punk style, so the two should complement each other well. Weekend’s solid debut, Sports, was released by Slumberland in November. Wire’s newest full-length, Red Barked Tree, dropped just last week via their own Pink Flag label.
