LCD Delivers a "Pow Pow" to The National

Last week, as you may have noticed below THIS very carousel, Noisevox introduced a new weekly feature  - a “battle” (we’re generally pacifists but work with us…) between artists and/or releases you know and hopefully love, going up against one another in a pitched contest of our own creation. The judges? Why, you of course.

For our inaugural installment of “VS” we pitted two of the indie rock juggernauts of 2010 – The National’s gloriously moody “High Violet” and LCD Soundsystem’s ironic swan song “This Is Happening” and asked quite simply, “Which ranks higher on YOUR year-end list”?   The votes are in, there were no electoral irregularities, and James Murphy, you can claim your prize. In a landslide that eclipsed even the GOP’s recent mid-term rout, LCD Soundsystem got your vote. Not surprisingly, both albums landed in Noisevox’s Top 25 albums of the year – see exactly where they ended up next week.

Meantime, it’s another VS for you, featuring some newer names. It’s an east coast-west coast battle this week as we ask which 2010 breakout band had the better year, in your humble opinion? Brooklyn’s Sleigh Bells or LA’s Local Natives? Log in and cast your vote right now!
