From the musical mind of Kody Nielson -- brother of Unknown Mortal Orchestra's Ruben Nielson -- comes more quirky, charming Kiwi pop. Opossum's debut album Electric Hawaii is due August 7th, and a nice taste of it come here, with the loopy, lilting "Fly", whose loopiness is made more so by the Sam Kristofski-directed music video.

Shot on New Zealand's south island, the nation's famously green countryside craggy and awash in sepia in this one -- the better to reinforce the olde-timey vaguely Dr. Who sci-fi cheese of a couple of blokes looking into some extraterrestrial goings-on. Or, as the official release for the video puts it:

This clip follows a group of scientists as they attempt to study a mysterious moving pyramid in the country. They move human looking robots around by remote control to get in closer to it. As they investigate, they discover a UFO.

You may discover a little UMO in Opossum as well, ha ha, but there ain't nothing wrong with that. A fun clip and tune from what is likely to be a fun full-length, our NV Music Video of the Day is "Fly" from Opossum.
