And a bowl of cherries
Simple, folksy, in earnest. A perfect summer jam. Jeremy Earl does one thing that so many song writing heroes have done in the past, which is touch on the elusive.
Woods' words are never filler to carry over a phrase in the melody. However the meat of the album is in the two instrumental tracks, each taking hypnotic flight into rather tribal beats that one might consider for their next summoning ceremony...
"Sol y Sombra" is an exception to the album, as it was written by an outside source. In the age of drone, I compare this track to a drawn out sample of the latin breakdown in "I Want You (She's so Heavy)" from Abbey Road. Give it a listen or twenty but try not to invoke too many familiars.
