It's no secret that Elizabeth Harper, aka Class Actress, is one of indie-dom's comeliest performers, but she's not the most beautiful thing in her new video "Bienvenue". Nor is it her co-star Sina Araghi, although he is très easy on the eyes. In fact the most beautiful thing about "Bienvenue" is its setting: the city that never fails to live up to--in fact, surpass--its reputation as the most romantic city on the planet. Which of course is part of the reason  countless fashion and fragrance ads have been shot there--and they tend to look a lot like this clip, directed by Clement Gino and Gregory Faure.

Elizabeth does a photo shoot on a rooftop, that unmistakable skyline spread out behind her: there's Sacré Coeur, there's the Eiffel Tower, and wait--there's a hot guy in her crew! Flirting ensues, yada yada, and we close with the couple framed next to a sparking Seine. You half expect a breathy v.o. to come in with "Trésor..." But no, the audio is supplied by electro confection, one of the smoother and more blissful offerings on Harper's latest album Rapprocher.

So you can practically smell the perfume and the Gauloises. So these are images we've seen in countless contexts before. They still look--and sound--mighty good, good enough to be our NV Music Video of the Day: "Bienvenue" from Class Actress.
