"Oh God, I'm tired," sings Chris Owens, in his fractured, heartbreaking voice, at the opening of "My Ma", a standout track from day 1 of the release of Girls' phenomenal Father Son Holy Ghost. And now this gorgeous song of loneliness, of a search for direction has an equally moving video to go along with it.

Directed by the consistently excellent Aaron Brown of Focus Creeps--a longtime Girls collaborator--and shot by Grant Singer, the real star is the "ma" in question: a middle-aged woman, immersed in her memories of her days as an actress, reflecting on what was, maybe what might have been, and seeming to search for something in the here and now, as she's followed around by a loving camera.

Don't you hate it when a song you love gets a music video that just doesn't do it justice? And how great is it when it gets one that is right on the mark? Put "My Ma" firmly in the latter category. Our NV Music Video of the Day is from Girls.
