George Lewis Jr. has been a busy man since Noisevox last talked to him, in mid-2010, about his sublime debut as Twin Shadow, Forget. In those two years, he has, in no particular order:

--- Transitioned rather seamlessly from indie pop buzz act to full-fledged alt pop star, and not even that alt.

--- Played some of the world's biggest stages, including Bonnaroo and Coachella, and opened for the big-lunged one, Florence Welch and her Machine.

--- Helped his buddy and erstwhile collaborator Chris Taylor produce his solo debut as CANT.

--- Bought a new motorycle, to replace the one he crashed six years ago, and which was regularly vandalized when he lived in Brooklyn. The new bike -- a Bonneville, a longtime dream.

--- Relocated to Los Angeles, at least part-time, a better location to ride that bike, and a new setting to write and record (with the considerable assistance of his band mate Wynne Bennett) the new Confess, a more direct, assertive and immediate follow-up to that dreamy debut.

Oh and one other thing: George has broken a few hearts and had it out with a few friends in those couple of years because the man, at least at this point in his life can't/won't be tied down. And that message, as you'll hear in this week's Face Time is at the heart of Confess. That motorcyle is as good a metaphor as any for his nomadic temperament, and it figures prominently into the album's first two videos, including the driving (literally) "Five Seconds", which you'll see here, and hear about George's short story, "Night of the Silver Sun" that inspired it. We'll talk about a rather Sting-channelling track on the new record, you'll hear what the original title of Confess was going to be, and how a certain teen superstar foiled those plans, and more.
